By a child proof top!!
I wanted to open a new container of dishwasher powder. It's one of those plastic ones with an "easy pour" spout. There's two little arrows, one on each side of the spout, and you have to squeeze the spout by the arrows and then pull it up. Well I tried and I tried, but it was too tough for me! I just couldn't squeeze it hard enough......so I gave up and called in the troops (aka hubby) to open it for me.
He failed too, and he's pretty strong and fit!! So... he examined the lid and decided it might be easier to just undo the whole top. (I hadn't thought of that) A little flick of the wrist, and the top unscrewed - DEAD EASY! He reckoned a three year old could have done it. So much for childproof

they are horrendously stuipid to get into sometimes... or stiff... we've used the door frame before now

ugh, I hear you, sister. Being arthritic, I've more than once muttered a few rude words trying to open something.
Yesterday, it was a re-sealable plastic pouch of little sausage links. It may have been re-sealable...but first you have to figure out, how to break the seal in the first place!
You think if manufacturers really wanted you to use their products, they'd make them easier to open!
